This was silly nonsense. In 2004, John Kerry was the losing Democrat with a 2.46% defeat in the popular vote to George W. Bush. Barack Obama was the winning Democrat of 2008, winning the U.S. Popular Vote over John McCain by 7.26%. That was a 9.73% national average shift from the 2004 Republican to 2008 Democratic column. So all these scenarios from Election 2008 was pseduo suspense that was nonsense, as Obama sent the Democratic margins in all Kerry states further north, and he flipped nine.

Looking back on this is really funny. Not only did Obama win all by 3 of those Gold States, but he won Pennsylvania by 10 points, New Hampshire by 9 points, and Maine's 2nd District by 11 points.And oh btw, he won that electoral vote in Omaha.Makes me wonder if King knew that at the time and tried to paint a rosy picture for the Republicans.
