Amazing that after all this time... Repubs are still focused on negative campaigning and insulting Obama rather than coming up with their own plans. Exactly what McCain did, and he lost miserably. They even have PALIN as their top cheerleader/spokesperson or whatever. They want her as the face of their party, where its her nasty, divisive idiocy that lost it for McCain. They want to lose more, lol

@teeftaller7 I have a question. How many jobs do middle and lower income families create each year?

The problem though mbs93188 if you're a Republican in PA is that the parts of PA that are trending GOP are losing relative population. The parts of PA that are trending Democratic are gaining. That's why Obama won the state by double digits. As soon as MSNBC made this projection, I KNEW McCain's goose was cooked! Because PA is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER called that early unless the Democratic candidate is kicking ass (pun intended)!
mbs91388 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The only differences in the state now from 1988 is that the suburbs of Pittsburgh have been trending Republican (except Butler County which has been staunchly Republican). Though Michael Dukakis lost the state, he had impressive showings in most of Western Pennsylvania.
mbs91388 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The primary reason why Republicans have not carried Pennsylvania since 1988 is because of the Philadelphia Suburbs (about a fifth of the state's population), which have trended more Democratic, including the most wealthy one: Chester County. George H.W. Bush, who was more moderate than his son carried the state by 3 points because of that region, as opposed to his son who lost the state by 3 points.
